Up 2

Well it definitely took awhile. 2 overtime periods, but they did it. The Ottawa Senators won the game in Buffalo last night to take a 2-0 series lead. That's right. 2-0 for Ottawa. 2 games in Buffalo. They now put themselves in great shape to go to the Stanley Cup Final.

It seems Ottawa is finally getting into a groove in the playoffs. Buffalo had a early 2-goal lead in the game, but Ottawa came back and scored 3 straight. After Buffalo tied it up late in the 3rd, Joe Corvo potted the winner in double overtime.

"I was just trying to catch the highlight of my goal on TV in the room and I missed it," said the overtime hero. "But I told the guys, `It's alright, I'll catch it again at 5 a.m. when I'm still awake." Corvo said.

"It's obviously the biggest goal in my life." said the 29-year-old native of Oak Park, Ill. "Just total elation when it went in. It's something I'll remember for the rest of my life."

And Alfredsson's stellar playoff continued yesterday as he set a Ottawa record with playoff goals. He also was the one who brought life back in the Senators when they were down 2-0, as he scored the 1st goal of the comeback.
