Just a few moments ago, veteran Gary Roberts was traded.
Now, no one (including myself) know who this trade is to or if Roberts has even been traded. But according to TSN sources, the trade is not to Toronto or Ottawa who have been the front-runners in the Roberts sweepstakes. The trade might be very close to Canada so it might be to Buffalo. It may come down to Buffalo and Pittsburgh as the Penguins are the 3rd most interested team for Roberts behind both Toronto and Ottawa.
Roberts is in an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. He is at the end of a 2-year deal that includes giving Roberts a no trade clause. With the clause, Roberts holds all the cars as he only wants to be traded to Toronto or Ottawa.
The 40 year-old is the perfect rental player. He brings leadership and a veteran attitude to any locker-room he walks into and is a good 2nd-line centre for any team.
I will have later confirmation of this trade soon.

Good thinking Young Gun; Pittsburgh is a sound place for a guy who would like to get back to the cup final one more time. However I see Ottawa meeting Detroit in the final.
